What is brainspotting?
Brainspotting is a trauma informed, somatic therapy that works with the nervous system through the eyes. By identifying specific eye positions, or brainspots, we access areas of the brain where emotional experience, memory, and trauma are held beyond conscious awareness. Rather than talking around symptoms, Brainspotting allows the body and psyche to lead the healing process, supporting deep processing, regulation, and integration at a pace that honors your system’s wisdom.
Who is brainspotting for?
Brainspotting is for people who sense that their healing lives in the body as much as in the mind. This work can be especially supportive if you feel stuck despite insight, carry anxiety or overwhelm that does not have a clear story, or notice old patterns repeating even after years of self work or therapy.
It is well suited for trauma, developmental wounds, burnout, grief, and nervous system dysregulation, particularly when talk therapy has not gone far enough. If you are drawn to a slower, attuned, depth oriented approach that honors your system’s timing, Brainspotting may be a great fit.
What Makes Brainspotting Different?
Brainspotting works beneath conscious thought, accessing how experience is stored in the nervous system and deeper brain structures. Rather than analyzing or retelling the past, this approach uses precise eye positions to invite the body and psyche to lead the healing process. Sessions unfold through presence, attunement, and careful tracking of internal experience, allowing processing to happen organically without force. This makes Brainspotting especially effective for trauma and emotional material that feels hard to name, overwhelming, or beyond words.
